Elevator Pitch No. 1

Lots of people like playing golf, but finding friends that can always play is hard, especially if you're just starting out and don't know many golfers yet.  Playing by yourself and teeing up with a random player can be embarrassing if there is a big skill difference.  I want to create an app called Golf Buddy that allows you to create a profile with your skill level, favorite courses, and other character information.  You can also book tee times straight from the app.  Revenue will come from ads, golf courses that want to display coupons and deals, and user fees for unlimited service.

  1. Great idea and good start for your first elevator pitch! I have a few suggestions that I think could help. First, try to introduce both your topic and problem in a more conversational and relatable way. Your idea is solid and there are so many people who will feel similar, just try to start with the problem instead of throwing the topic of your problem in there first (I hope that didn't sound too confusing). Second, maybe try to condense your pitch a little more. For instance, by condensing your solution into a few solid sentences, your overall pitch would be more direct and a little shorter. Good luck!

  2. Hey Kyle! Great elevator pitch! I think you solution is very interesting and well integrated into the public. In my opinion, there are a literally a lot of people who cant find someone to play with on a normal day. Creating the app will definitely allow other players to interact.

  3. Kyle, I like this idea! Do you think it could be transferred to other sports down the road? I think apps like this are always a big hit for people to find other people like them. I also think golf courses would love this app so they can better advertise to golfers. For your next pitch, maybe speak up a little louder, with more confidence in your idea! It's a great one!

  4. I think this idea has potential. It seems like you have at least a basic understanding of how to make money off of an app of this sort. I like the idea of having a restricted and unlimited version. I believe there would be a need for this, especially since there would be a free version of the app so there's no reason not to try it out if you need a golf buddy. When you are presenting your pitch make sure that you are confident and collected. Being confident and collected during a presentation of your idea can sell it more than the actual potential your idea has. I believe in this idea. Overall good job on the assignment.

  5. Hey kyle great job on the elevator pitch and explaining the problem that people have and the unmeet need associated with golf. I would love to have seen a more detailed explanation about what else the app will offer and how the skill levels and character information will be kept track of. But overall great job on your first pitch and I’m excited to see how it will turn out.

  6. Kyle,

This is a good idea. This would help people to start playing without feeling uncomfortable or bad. It happens a lot that a lot of people avoid to play certain games because they do not know how to play, but with this many people would not feel that they are bad because they get to play with others that are learning too. And it would be an awesome way to get to know other people that are trying to do the same things
